
Charles Tate is currently Chairman of Arva Intelligence, a nature-based solutions provider for companies with environmental or human health challenges, and Founder & Executive Chairman of OfLand Hotels, an outdoor-oriented hospitality company. His 55 years of business experience also encompass commercial, investment and merchant banking, most notably at Morgan Stanley and Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst.
Mr. Tate received his BBA from The University of Texas at Austin in 1968, from which he has been elected to the McCombs School of Business Hall of Fame in 2003 and a Distinguished Alumnus in 2007. He received its Presidential Citation from former President Bill Powers in 2011. He also served on the Board of UTIMCO (The University of Texas Investment Management Company) from 2004 to 2014.
He received his MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business in 1972.
Mr. Tate lives in Houston, Texas and is a Member of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Board of Visitors, an active supporter of Communities in Schools Houston, which provides solutions for special challenges of K-12 education, and the Beacon Center, which coordinates the City’s resources to deliver solutions for the City’s homeless’ challenges. He also serves on the Board of The Monarch Community, which specializes in therapies for the treatment of severe psychiatric disorders.
