WELCOME TO BIG LIFE FOUNDATION

Big Life Foundation was founded by photographer Nick Brandt and conservationist Richard Bonham in September 2010 as the only organization that funds and supports coordinated cross-border anti-poaching operations in East Africa.

Since its inception, Big Life has expanded to employ over 315 rangers, with 31 outposts and 15 vehicles protecting 2 million acres of wilderness in the Amboseli-Tsavo ecosystem. The poachers keep them incredibly busy. At last count there were only 420,000 elephants in Africa, down from 1.2 million in 1980.

The goal of this fundraiser is to help Big Life’s Rombo Camp, the most remote of the Big Life outposts. The Rombo Camp rangers patrol a dangerous and isolated area that poachers use to access Tsavo from Tanzania. The area that they defend is critical for the elephants from Tsavo who rely on the water in this area during the dry season. This vast and rugged range is extremely difficult to safeguard and it is through the dedication of the Rombo Camp rangers that there has been a substantial reduction in poaching operations in this region.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 to meet the Rombo outpost's operating expense through 2015.

100% of all of your donations will go directly into the field to fund the Rombo outpost.
