To Save Animals, Target People

For Big Life Foundation, conservation is about communities. These are the people who tolerate the existence of wildlife on their land, and we’re working to make sure that they have a good reason to do that. This approach will only become more important as the human population continues to explode across the continent, otherwise the future will see wildlife under siege in limited protected areas.

Jamie Joseph, of Saving the Wild, explores the importance of solving poverty to reduce the demand and appeal of hunting some of the world’s most beautiful and endangered species. Read the article below in which she interviews Big Life’s Director of Operations, Richard Bonham, on how solving poverty saves elephants.
