141002 1 1 Multiple Arrests Made as Bushmeat Poaching Intensifies

In September, deep into the dry season, Big Life rangers have arrested 37 people in 18 different poaching incidents.

But it’s rare for rangers to stumble upon poachers during routine patrols. Instead, the rangers must solve challenging puzzles as they join the dots from initial intelligences to eventual poacher arrest.

Each time a poacher is caught, the message is reinforced: poaching does not result in income, but in a hard, fruitless night at best, jail at worst.

And so it is that the Big Life rangers help keep the 2 million+ acre area they patrol vibrant and thriving, one arrest at a time.
